This is kind of outdated.. seeing as there is no prestrafing in GO
Yeah, but its still a good reference. I still jump in the exact same style and it's getting me at least over 138 units. Though, I would definitely like to hear source specific advice if anyone has any.
Actually running and jumping with the intention of prestrafing it does grant more air speed. A normal run and straight jump will only generate 250. base movement speed. The added movements from left to right with corresponding keys will result in more movement speed higher then 250.
1. Running forward will generate 250 while w is pressed down. Jumping will still result in 250 if in a straight line.
2. Running and turning your mouse before you jump and multi strafe will generate higher than 250 base speed since you are not going in a straight line. but more of wavy pattern ( very short wavy pattern More speed = more distance)
3. The Double Bunny hop jump is use just for that and it does utilize air strafing to generate speeds over 320 units
Is it necessary to do it all the time? Yes and No. The Prestrafe does angle you better in case you do need to do a quick multistrafe.
I will upload a video when i have the time.
Thanks. i'll soon get 1.6 longjump world record
