hi HoC, my mates skitty, masque and I are mappers from Australia and we recently collaborated on a KZ map together over the course of a week. the map is called Comatose & features three levels each created by one of us. we tried to make the atmosphere more enjoyable than other maps, while keeping it at a comfortable difficulty for beginners however still possible to fight for top times. it's approximately 3 minutes on an absolute perfect run (however i'd be really impressed if one of you get below 3 minutes). the map has minor skips, however nothing too big, but may save you crucial seconds. this map also features a new automatic timer ending system thought up by masque, when you teleport into the final ending room, your timer will automatically turn off and give you the exact time at which you finish. we feel as if the effort put into this map should encourage other mappers to put as much love into their maps as we did, especially with the attention to detail & the atmospheric value that we tried to invoke. please note that our map is heavily inspired by our favourite badges maps on CS:S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spqFKcYqvn4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5paVe29XuAE heres a link for you guys; kz_msp_comatose thanks
We've had the map for a little while. It definitely gets my vote for "Best KZ Map released in a long damn time". The level designs are awesome, the run is fluid, even the sound files are well thought out. The end timer is pretty damn cool. My only criticism is that I wish the blocks in the 3rd area appeared a little bit faster/sooner. Overall, amazing job. This is what KZ mappers should be striving towards.
Thanks for the great feedback, man, we appreciate it. I created the third level and I figured that the blocks were visible enough for people to get where to go first time around, I might've made everything appear a bit too late however, but oh well Thanks for the criticism though! Really likin' that title though, best KZ map released in a long damn time is a great achievement for us as myself and Skitty are fairly new to mapping (only ever released one map each) and Masque has taught us really well (as he's released ALOT more than us haha). Currently all three of us are mapping under the name env_edit [found here] and we'll start putting our logo on our newest maps soon enough so you'll know what comes out of us
Give lessons to the other mappers please. Honestly, you could release longer, separate versions of all 3 sections and I'd be happy. Keep up the good work.
I absolutely loved this map. I don't kz much anymore, but this was one of the most enjoyable maps I have played in a really really long time.
I don't know, we might end up making tutorials one day we'll end up making newer longer maps with a consistent theme however I don't think any collaborations are coming in anytime soon, another one eventually though, guarantee it. Thanks ressMox! glad you enjoyed it
If those tutorials say anything other than "copy badges old maps" then I'll be sorely disappointed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spqFKcYqvn4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5paVe29XuAE EDIT: Bit rude of you to delete my post on the CS:GO workshop about how you copied my maps.
Yeah, me and Badges talked about it, I let him know that the map was really inspired by his CS:S maps & we didn't mean it disrespectfully. He's removed his comment from the Workshop and I've updated the description to credit him No bad blood.
