If you weren't already aware, I am the person responsible for uploading content to our YouTube channel.

Since I took over the channel alongside KELLZ around 4 months ago, it has been predominantly focused on KZ content as the Bhop replay bots were broken. With the introduction of Rocket Jump and fixed Bhop replay bots, this allows us to start using runs from those modes for the channel.

Which leads me on to my question(s) & requests: If I want to find a nice KZ run to upload, I can either have a look at the kz-stats website (which has changed in the past few months making it a lot more difficult to find runs but that's irrelevant to this post) or I'll ask one of the really experienced players if they have any suggestions on runs that should be on the channel. This is infinitely harder with RJ (and I assume it'll be a similar situation with Bhop), it requires me to look through each server and not only find a run that I find upload worthy, but to then compare those runs to the other servers to ensure that it is in fact the record. As you can hopefully understand, doing this on top of then editing and rendering the video on my god awful PC is not at all time effective.

So what I am asking is, if any of you know of any Bhop/Rocket Jump records that you feel are suitable for the channel, please do let me know, but consider the following; just because it is a record, it does not make it an amazing run or worthy of an upload; I would really like to focus on uploading near perfect runs that are fast & exciting to watch, with minimal mistakes (hitting a block and losing all velocity, for example). You can either send me the map & player names here, or contact me via private message on the forums.

My next question lies within the length of the runs being uploaded, I don't know anything about Bhop at all, so I have no idea if this would also concern those records. Having looked at a good few of the available records on the RJ servers, almost all of them that I would deem worthy of an upload feel way too short (10-20 seconds), I want to know what the general consensus is on this? To me it just feels extremely strange uploading such a short video, any ideas are welcomed.

    Thanks

There are alot of good bhoppers you can try to compare the times to and see who is infact the fastest and I guess here are some examples,
    XTN speedruns - https://www.youtube.com/user/RamschKanal
    FTW beginner - https://www.youtube.com/user/FTWBeginner
    Noodles - https://www.youtube.com/user/nooodl3s
    Global Jumps - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-p-5TJug7NBXmbHgUjxjww

Those are the large cs:go bhopping channels that I know of as most runs are still done over at cs:s! (sadly)
Otherwise always feel free to send me a pm asking and I can have it looked up.

I will also be getting into working with SrcDemo2 again once school ends and hopefully we can try to get that working and increase the quality.
Any maybe even get a wr myself.. yet that is highly doubet due to the levels of sick players we have here in our little community.

Thanks for the great amount of work you are putting in!

most hopping channels do like to upload a few maps at a time in player compilation videos (for example , 30 records by Forest). and then on top of that they also upload the "longer" maps which are about 3+ mins long ().

Sourcejump is a youtube channel focused on CSS records, although its still got some good content on there to look at for referance: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyEAWx-xBlI-uP2RkqaG43A
FasteHops is also a decent youtube channel although A LOT smaller (some decent runs on there though :3): https://www.youtube.com/user/fastehops

for map recommendations id reccomend next to none (unless going for the compilation) on the easy servers :/ as next to all the maps can be done in under 1 min. if you hav ethe time it would be worth checking out some of Jimmy/ClouDD's runs on the hard servers :3

Hopefully i can be of more halp in teh futur, if you need anything just let me know and ill try my best to help out :D ...... "Lets make bhop great again!"

I agree with arkh however I skipped faste hops and source jumps as they are css orientatet. But the complain versus one run thing is true for csgo aswell and is a good concept!

Imho i learnt a lot from watching CSS bhop, and i think the youtube upload formula they have is decent on most of the CSS hop channels :3 although the main downside (and its a big one) is the amount of effort it takes to hop map, record a 30 sec run, hop map, record a 30 second run etc around 30 times and then have to edit them together. it takes a lot of storage space and also takes up a lot of time :3
I understand why you skipped them though Zer0 but i think we can learn some things from the content uploads, not just the content of the individual videos :D (i also was thinking of not including them in my reply :L)
but i digress, as i mentioned its a ton of effort to put out a compi video when compared to a full 3+ min run video :3 some upsides to it though is that viewers are much more likely to get drawn in and watch all of the video instead of just half or less, as the map is constantly changing and engaging the audience. Theres a lot to keep in mind but to be honest its up to you eNtity.

Thanks for the feedback, like I previously mentioned I don't know anything at all about bhop, who is good who isn't, what is good and what isn't etc. So if you can suggest a global record that is on one of the longer maps that would be suitable for the channel that'd be great (has to be on HOC of course)

I'd definitely be down to do a compilation of one player but again for bhop I'd have no idea what/who to record, but it's definitely something we can look into for RJ once it's a few months in. Although I don't think I would make it as long as some of these compilations, my pc doesn't cope very well when I'm rendering something for a very long time

Yeah I agree. What we could do is more of a mixture because I have lots of storage and a powerfull pc so I could make the basis for compliations and then someone with rendering knowledge could polish them after I have compressed them. But I agree compliations draw people in and I find them more fun to watch as you can come and go freely.

This is something that we can work on but it can also give a nice outcome and get us loads of attention! So storage and power is not a problem on my part, neither will time be as I am free all summer long.

At the minute eNtity, have a look at Jimmy and ClouDD and Agendus' runs, they're quite fun to watch on most maps. Also another thing to mention is music choice :D id reccoment some "chill" or "chill hop" songs, some good youtubers to look at are koalakontroll, xkito, cloudkid and suicide sheep :D one of my favorite artists atm is EDEN and i think with some of his songs you can make a decent video with :D (he has stated also that you're free to use his music as long as you credit him in the desc). ill take a note of some names of people i find fun to watch hop, and what styles are you looking for? cause we have the standard autohop, legit nub (auto but manual jumping) and legit pro (comp settings without the vel cap). those would most likely bring the most viewers, but on some maps the parkour (extra speed boost and jump when rightclicking a wall) and the easy/ glitcher (easy = low grav + highjump, glitcher = highjump) are super fun and interesting to see.

Alright thanks for the info man, as for the styles I honestly don't know (when I say I know nothing about bhop I mean literally nothing) what styles do people usually use for the uploads?

Also if there are any RJ players, please let me know names/maps of any particularly impressive runs or please provide some feedback on the above if possible, thanks

eNtity, come on hoc#3 eu sometime this week, if im on ill show you how they work first hand, also most uploaders use auto hop, but showing legit times is kinda uncommon, it will be more interesting to have some diversity in the bhop commuity, as i know some hoppers that "main" easy style :3 where i "main" legitnub :3

I meant I didn't understand what the different modes people used when going for runs or what the "go to" is for runs, I have an understanding of the styles but it was just the abover I didn't know about, thanks for the info mate
