    Hey guys,

i'm still quite new to the jumping around thing and all so i am requiring some help here please ;)

I can hit 270's nobind pretty consistently now but my first strafe is always < 80% and i figured, when i want to improve my sync, i might as well start with the first strafe...

So what i'm wondering about now is this:
Is the only reason for not getting 95% sync + on first strafe that i'm not releasing "w" perfectly enough?
I've been really trying to variate for the past half hour, but i cant get a 90% sync on my first strafe!
I mean what else could it be right? im already holding "a" and mouse is going to the left due to prestrafing.

Fucking up the second strafe by pressing "d" to late or releasing "a" to late should not change the sync of my first strafe, should it? (preeing with "a"+"w")

One of two things, either your W release sucks and it's overlapping with your first strafe, or it's that you're pressing the key for your second strafe too early.

thanks, helped me figure it out. the third of the two things is true, beeing that i switch my mousedirection too early... on every strafe apparently..
i just tried to sync my beginning-of-button-pressing with mouse-direction-switching, which is wrong. what i really need to do is figuring out the delay i need to have with my mouse behind my keypressing, because the keys react less insteant. wow this is insane. how do i unlearn the old automatism?!?

    thread closed.

    thread reopened! xD

this is probably just common KZ knowledge but since noone ever really told me this, im posting it here. there is another important thing for the first strafe sync beeing the jump-off-angle!
Defining the straight "w" jump line as 0°, the jump-off-angle (in the moment as the jump-key just gets a contact) has to be 0° relative to that straight "w" jump line, to get 100% on first sync.

so combined its 3 things you have to do in order to hit a 100% sync first strafe:

    (1) jump-off-angle beeing 0° exactly when u hit your jump-key
    (2) "w" release as close to jump-key-pressing as possible
    (3) [don't release your first-strafe-key to late] = [don't switch your mouse-direction to early]

this of course does not proof my point, but i did about 15 100% sync on first strafe in the last hour and i dont think i ever hit one before today + im tired as fuck. this is kind of huge to train, because then u can do like ez 4 strafe 270's with about 25% air-time each wich is super chill ;) ...and im more the relaxed KZ-playing type, doing max 5 strafes usually when i do maps, and 7 when i really need to go far :D

not doing the mouse-after-keayboard-delay - that i was talking about in the post before - properly only matters beginning from the second strafe, because the second strafe starts counting not until the first-strafe-key has been already released and the opposite strafe-direction-key pressed; and i was talking about the key-pressing-to-mouse-directon-switching-delay, so i was worng there. (not sure if this does make sense to anyone, just wanted to correct my last post)
