So, my timer keeps stopping at random times. I'll start a run and then some where randomly in that run the timer will just not be there anymore in my CPMenu. The CPMenu just reverts back to how it would be if I never pressed the start button. 1. I've unbound my .noclip bind to make sure I'm not pressing it by accident (Even though it was on G and I'm pretty sure my fingers aren't that retarded >.>). 2. I've tried replicating this "bug" but nothing I press on my keyboard/mouse stops my timer. 3. I've only started noticing it as soon as I got VIP. Before getting VIP it seemed fine although I can vaguely remember it happening once or twice in the past but now it seems to be every time I press the start button. (No idea if that has any relevance to the issue or not). Any help/suggestions with solving this issue would be appreciated.
If it happens on all servers, it's likely an issue on your side. Different servers use different timer plugins. For example, US HoC2 and HoCVIP use one plugin, while US HoC1 uses a different plugin.
Sorry for the late reply, haven't been around for about a week. I've just reinstalled cs:go from fresh which includes removing all the files related to cs:go before reinstalling and the problem still persists. Surely a fresh reinstall would have solved the issue if it's on my side? (not saying it isn't on my side, just asking) I've only played on HoC EU#2 (Since the reinstall). Don't think I'll go on any of the other servers bar EU#2 until this problem is resolved. May help narrow down what is actually happening. I'll try and be more attentive to what happens when my timer stops since it seems to stop randomly and report back here if I find anything.
Hi, I have had this issue as well. However, most of the time I put it down to my forgetfulness to hit a timer. Although there is a bug that you may encounter, I believe this is the most likely cause although I will have to test more to find the root of the problem, Firstly, the one I have tested is that if you are doing a run, go to spectators, and then go back to the run but on a different team the timer will stop. This will not happen if you join the same team to the best of my knowledge. [THIS HAS NOT BEEN FULLY TESTED, YET] However, it seems to happen very intermittently. At this very moment I am trying lots of variations and trying to replicate these things and seeing if any have an effect. I will report back here and/or send a message to the admins with my findings. [hr] Findings so far: [All done on EU2] Team Swap: TIMER STOP Spectate Same Team: NO STOP Spectate Different Team: NO STOP Spectate Replay Finishing: NO STOP Spectate Real Finishing: NO STOP Opening Options: NO STOP VIP ONLY: Changing model: NO STOP Searching online has found no results. So far I believe it is client side, however, until the source is found cannot be sure. I suggest recording your game whilst you climb and see if the bug occurs. OBS can be used for screen recording and you can upload it to Youtube in the raw if the bug is unclear. More testing to come, I will test this data again for greater accuracy. P.S Prox if you have any other info if you could share it id be happy to test the bug. Regards Crook
I had one theory which was "When someone beats their time on a map and receives points my timer would stop." However, after testing it over and over again that didn't seem to be the case. It honestly seems like it's completely random. Right now I'm quickly rendering a short video to upload to youtube of my timer randomly stopping. It only shows it happening twice since I have to go soon (Planning on making a longer one when I have time). I will make sure to post the video here once it has been uploaded.
Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymayxx7xFho&feature=youtu.be First timer stop: 5~seconds Second timer stop: 34~seconds
I think it's just coincidence. I'm gonna hop on now and do a few runs of whatever map is on and record. I will open my console up every time my timer stops and I'll upload the video to youtube once again. Hopefully we'll be able to isolate what is happening. This is really annoying to say the least. Update: So after two maps of recording and my timer stopping; I'm still as clueless as before. There seems to be no visible indication to why this bug happens. I will still upload the video if need be but there's not much to see bar my timer stopping and chat/jumpstats/etc in console.
