The rtv system in the VIP server needs to be modified somehow. I know myself and a bunch of other people have experienced someone typing rtv and map is changed instantly and as a result we lose our runs. This is the VIP server we're talking about and in my opinion it should be consensus before map is rtv'd. We already have implied standards where it's polite to ask before changing or rtving but there are times where people do it accidentally or don't spec to see if anyone is running. I won't make any suggestions because I really don't know how hard it is to modify the plugin so I'll leave it up to whoever if we decide this is something that needs to be changed.
The only time a map should instantly change is if nextmap has already been decided and enough votes for RTV is reached. In that case, the RTV just changes to the nextmap. What we can do is disable RTV after the nextmap is set, so you would just have to wait out the 10 minutes. We can also set the required # of votes to initiate RTV higher. It's currently set to 60%.
the way that the rtv system works now on the test server will fit to the vip server too, in my opinion
The RTV in the VIP server changes the map instantly after the vote, and the vote pops up pretty quickly once RTV'd so I mean the problem still exists. But the idea of increasing the % needed seems like a good fix without having to modify anything major.
Increasing the % wouldn't help much overall imo. - only for when you're 3 or 4 people in the server, then the % should be 75% or higher to make a difference, and then the map wouldn't change when there's a bunch in the server.
That's true but then the only solution would be to modify the whole system and that's probably going to take some work.
I don't disagree - but I don't think upping the % would help anything. Maybe a way of removing your RTV, without having to disconnect.
It's a tough call, but I think upping the % is worth the try. It's a quick fix and is easily reversed. If it gets any worse perhaps we could look into a more permanent solution.
