  1. Hey, I was just wondering since im sure who ever owns House of Climb could definitely answer this question the ESEA community had on their forums. Is it still possible to BHOP in CS:GO. or does the house of climb have a different setting than a normal competitive play server?

Currently there are different Cvars set to Bhop. Bhopping on Standard Competitive play Settings is still possible but you will not get faster speed as it is harder to preform. The Cvars are Air acceleration. And i believe friction plays a small part in this as well. Friction is use to calculate the distance needed to generate max running speed. Lower the friction faster the speeds are obtained but upon stopping makes you slide Hence like in the Climb Server you somtimes Slide. The Air acceleration lets you maintain the movement from left to right with the corresponding key or (Strafing) without the use of using the forward movement Key (w).

The main point is Bhopping can be done on Competitive Settings But much harder and is not worth trying to replicate the speed.

On the Climb server there are different Cvar's set to help obtain and maintain the speed. Which makes bhopping possible.

^Well that clarifies my annoyance

  4. First, Thank you for the quick and detailed response. It's very much appreciated. When you say " Bhopping on Standard Competitive play Settings is still possible but you will not get faster speed as it is harder to preform." Say someone hypothetically mastered bhopping, could he essentially bhop across an entire map faster than someone with a knife could? Very Hypothetical, but I just want to know if it's something that's just impossible to do consistently, or just hasn't been mastered yet.

Theoretically Yes because you generate more Horizontal movement speed Instead of running in a straight line at a fixed speed (250 with knife). Now when you Bhop you will start at 250 max run speed and then with the magic of strafing in the air you generate more speed over 250 one simple strafe and can generate up to about 15-20 extra movement lets say roughly 268 So when you hit the ground at 268 and jump again the Physics engine retains that speed as if you never touched the ground and you strafe the opposite way you can get 290 and so forth. However if you manage to screw up the strafing you can drop as low as 220 so is it possible to get down De_dust2 long for example. If some one ran down it they are capped at 250 all the way where as someone bhopping is not capped at 250 but has a harder time trying to maintain that higher speed.
